Nice place but the neighborhood is much different than what we’re used to. Parking can be very difficult although we lucked out and grabbed a spot literally three feet from the front door. That was super lucky. It’s about a ten minute walk to the subway. The room was the smallest we’ve ever been in with only a couple feet of space around the big soft king bed. Staff were very friendly and easy check-in/ checkout. There is a nice little bar area in the lobby.
I recently had a disappointing experience at a hotel that not only failed to return my deposit but also falsely claimed to have processed the refund without providing any confirmation. Despite clean rooms, the dishonest handling of the deposit has left me with a negative impression. Strongly discouraged.
I stayed here for a few days in September, and liked it.
Location: the immediate neighborhood is largely Hispanic/Latino, and starting to gentrify (kind of like SF's Mission District a few years ago). The interesting "Industry City" complex is just a few blocks away - an easy walk. Lots of small Latin American restaurants and small shops nearby, plus Sunset Park itself. I felt completely safe walking around the area. I didn't use public transit, but it looked to be pretty convenient.
Front desk staff: they were friendly, efficient and helpful. No complaints.
Room: not hugely spacious, but fine for me. It was clean, quiet, everything worked, the bed was comfortable, the shower was good, the window did not open but the AC worked and was quiet, there was a convenient counter/desk surface, and good lighting. My room was at the back of the hotel, with some view of the city. The decor was a bit odd - like it was trying to be really cool/trendy but kind of missed. Overall fine.
Other: Parking looked a bit limited, but I didn't have a car. Lyft worked well for me getting to other places.
If I needed to be in this area I would stay here again.
Just finished staying here for a week. Overall, not a terrible hotel, but I wouldn't say 4 Star quality, I've been at 2 Star hotels that were much better. First of all, and this may just be a NYC thing, but you have to pay for parking on top of already paying for a room (I didn't drive so that wasn't an issue). Also, having to pay for breakfast is pretty crazy to me, especially at $15. The room service is subpar; being there for a week and they never changed any of the bed sheets, never restocked coffee or body wash and even stole quarters off my desk I had left out. Overall I don't if all these things are the norm in NYC, and the stay here really wasn't that bad for the price, just more small warnings to anyone looking to stay here.
if I could give zero stars I absolutely. Terrible staff, unclean rooms, this is not a 4 star hotel in any universe. Not only could we not get a check in an hour early, our room took 2 additional hours past check in to be ready and it was dirty just drenched in bleach. THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT EITHER INCONVENIENCE.
Our card was over charged $1,300 how is that even possible??? They again did nothing for the inconvenience.
Manager Anthony and Tyler are very unhelpful, poor customer service, and do not know how to bill and charge correctly.
I wish I had pictures of the room condition, but I don’t keep ugly things in my phone. The hotel is typically cheap, but we went on a holiday weekend and spent a good amount of money. For the experience 100% not worth it.
Spend the extra money and book in manhattan to get the experience you deserve. We usually do, don’t change what isn’t broken lol.
My husband and I stayed there for 5 days and we like everything about this hotel. No smell, no noise, big, clean rooms. We even found street parking! Also metro station is close too. Now we don't have to look up hotels every time when visiting NYC. Definitely will stay there again.
Nice and clean¿ it was fine but it was more like a 2 to 2.5 star hotel. It¿s definitely not a 4 star hotel¿ I have no idea how it was rated at a 4. The rooms are very basic, the toiletries are mismatched, the drapes are frayed.
Clean, modern hotel. Rooms are tiny though! Climate control works well once you figure it out. Continental breakfast is decent - good variety and quality.
